Empowering The Future

I have had opportunities to associate myself with Reliance Industries Limited, one of the most respected corporates of the country, in various capacities since 2010. Currently, as a Director of Reliance Group Support Service Pvt Ltd, I shoulder responsibilities pertaining to all kinds of non-technical departments like finance, accounts, procurement of contracts, Human Resources, Corporate Affairs and such. But most of all, I take pride in the work done over customizing the security solutions.

Registered under Bombay Public Trust, the operations, maintenance and the infrastructural development of Dwarka Devsthan Samiti come under the purlieu of Government of Gujarat, which is its sole trustee. To undertake these responsibilities, Gujarat Government has appointed a committee that looks after the daily affairs, and the developmental work of the Jagat Mandir and its surroundings. The government has entrusted me with the post and responsibilities of the Vice-Chairman of this committee, considering my contribution towards the development of Dwarka as a Group Senior Vice President of Reliance Industries Limited. In the time I have been a part of this committee, I have strived to streamline operations apart from prioritising the developmental work considering the increasing number of pilgrims that visit Dwarka to pay their respects and, the domestic and international tourists that visit Dwarka for its scenic beauty, architecture, and historical, mythological, religious and spiritual significance.

Sudama Setu is a cable-stayed, suspension bridge over the Gomti river in Dwarka. This Laxman Zula type pedestrian bridge connects the Gomti Ghat behind the Jagat Mandir and Panchnad Tirth, on the other bank. It has been built by Reliance Industries Limited, in collaboration with the Gujarat Tourism Department and Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board. The Sudama Setu Seva Samiti is a body that was established with the intent to look after its operations and maintenance, and I, as the Vice-Chairman, am responsible for the overall supervision of the committee and for taking initiatives that would help facilitate pilgrims and tourists during their visits in any way possible.

Vadodara Marathon is an initiative that strives to work for the betterment of the health of the people. This Marathon (42.4 km run) is a prestigious event organised in Vadodara annually. As a Board Member, I have initiated events and campaigns that create awareness among people about health and fitness, National initiatives like Swachcha Bahrat Abhiyan and social causes like women empowerment.

Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is a global, peer-to-peer network of more than 11,000+ young & dynamic business owners with 157 chapters in 48 countries. Founded in 1987, EO is the catalyst in enabling entrepreneurs to learn, grow and achieve greater success in business and beyond. As a member of this prestigious organisation, I have had a chance to interact with young and dynamic entrepreneurs. In the past few years, I have applied my learnings from these interactions in various organisations. These interactions have also helped me fulfil my responsibilities in a better manner.

Cities & Towns across the world are facing one common problem – ‘Traffic congestion’. This is an area which affects almost all people. It is a challenging task to streamline traffic issues since the solutions are varied in nature with complex degree of actions – right from changing mindsets of people and their traffic sense to adherence to traffic rules and their perception about road safety. I, as a trustee, along with the forum influence the decisions about city planning in order to pave way for the long term solutions for a number of traffic issues.
